Bathrooms have become the most personal room in the luxury home — the place homeowners invest in for themselves rather than for entertaining. That shift is reflected in the design moves we see most often across our Plantation, Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, and Boca Raton bathroom projects.
Curbless wet rooms are the runaway trend. A walk-in shower and freestanding tub share the same waterproofed zone with a linear drain and a sheet of frameless glass between the wet room and the rest of the bath. The result feels spa-like and the install lasts decades when waterproofing is done right.
Large-format porcelain on walls and floors continues to push out small mosaic tile. A 24×48 or 32×64 porcelain reads as architecture and has fewer grout lines to maintain. We use it on shower walls, tub surrounds, and flooring to unify the space.
Vanities are getting wider and lower. A 72 to 96 inch double vanity with a wall-hung profile, hidden drawer pulls, and integrated lighting creates the dressing-room feel that is the new luxury standard.
Lighting layers transform a bathroom from utilitarian to restorative. Wall sconces flanking mirrors for accurate face lighting, recessed perimeter lighting on dimmers, and a decorative pendant or chandelier over the tub for evening atmosphere are non-negotiable in our high-end projects.
